The American Revolution Phase II PII

Battling for the Soul of America: Freedom and Religious Liberty vs Socialism                                                                               Social Pressures and the Persecution of Faith

In recent years, there has been a growing concern about social pressures leading to the persecution of faith in America. Religious beliefs have increasingly come under fire, with individuals and organizations facing legal challenges and social ostracism for their religious convictions.
One example of this is the clash between religious liberty and LGBTQ+ rights. As society becomes more accepting of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities, conflicts arise when religious beliefs clash with anti-discrimination laws. Some argue that protecting LGBTQ+ rights is essential for promoting equality, while others believe that it infringes upon religious freedom. More importantly it’s against the Word of God.

Homosexual sin is taught against and prohibited by God throughout the Old Testament, and then it is prohibited throughout the New Testament as well. As Christians, we don’t want to give into the social cultural influences of our day to make it seem okay to identify as a homosexual. The reality is that no one should identify by their sin.

You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination. Leviticus 18:22

The Impact of Policy on Religious Liberty

I’m one that have always tried to point people towards the policies of a given party or individual. Policy decisions have a significant impact on religious liberty in America. The interpretation and application of laws can either protect or restrict the free exercise of religion.
Religious freedom and strong families have always been partners in the history of the United States. The pilgrims sought religious freedom and a place to settle, live, and worship God in a way they saw fit. The social, civic, and legal systems they created in order to carry this out were closely aligned with their strong Christian beliefs, which, for the most part, were perpetuated by the family.

They saw the Christian family as a little church, a little government, and a little society. It was in the family that future generations would be trained, learning the values necessary for leading significant, purposeful lives. The family’s goal was to honor God by promoting Christian values in the next generation so they would make a positive contribution to society. Religious freedom helped create the space for making such contributions. It’s so important that the policies of the nation reflect these truths, if we are to win this battle.

Social Pressures and the Erosion of Faith-Based Values

Social pressures play a significant role in shaping societal norms and values. In recent years, there has been a noticeable shift away from traditional faith-based values towards more secular attitudes.  This shift can be attributed to various factors, including changing demographics, advancements in technology, and cultural influences. As society becomes more diverse and interconnected, traditional religious beliefs may be seen as outdated or incompatible with modern values.
Furthermore, the rise of social media and online platforms has created new avenues for public discourse and activism. This increased visibility can lead to the marginalization of religious perspectives, as more secular voices dominate the conversation. Regardless of all these factors, the word of God declares.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2

Protecting the Essence of American Identity

As America grapples with these challenges to its founding principles, it is crucial to protect the essence of its identity. The fight for freedom and liberty is not a new one; it has been at the heart of America’s story since its inception. America’s strength lies in its ability to embrace diversity while upholding core values. It is possible to have robust debates about socialism, religious liberty, and social pressures without compromising the fundamental principles that define America.
The battle for the soul of America requires unity in diversity a recognition that different perspectives can coexist within a shared commitment to freedom and liberty. By engaging in thoughtful dialogue, respecting differing viewpoints, and upholding the principles that have guided America for centuries, it is possible to chart a path forward that preserves the essence of American identity.

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
