We are living in a season of rapid change and growing uncertainty, yet believers are not called to fear. Scripture urges us to recognize the times, remain spiritually alert, and place our confidence in Jesus Christ. When change is in the air, God’s people must stand firm, stay ready, and look up, for our redemption draws near.
“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them… But ye, brethren, are not in darkness.” 1 Thessalonians 5:3–4
We are living in a time of unprecedented change. Around the world, political tensions, economic uncertainty, wars, natural disasters, and rapid technological advances dominate the headlines. Many wonder what the future holds, while others search for hope in a world that seems increasingly unstable.
The Bible reminds us that none of these events should surprise the people of God. Jesus foretold that the days leading to His return would be marked by significant global and spiritual changes. Rather than responding with fear or anxiety, believers are called to live with discernment, confidence, and hope, knowing that God remains sovereign over history.
As the world speaks of “peace and safety,” Scripture calls us to remain spiritually awake, faithfully serving Christ, and watching for His return. This is not a message of fear, it is a message of hope, readiness, and unwavering confidence in the promises of God.
“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” Luke 21:28
The world is changing rapidly. Nations are unsettled, uncertainty is increasing, and many voices continue to promise peace and security. Yet Scripture reminds believers to look beyond appearances and remain spiritually alert.
The Apostle Paul warned that when people proclaim, “Peace and safety,” sudden destruction will come unexpectedly. However, he also reminded believers that we are not living in darkness. God has given us His Word so that we can recognize the times, walk in truth, and remain prepared.
Jesus did not speak about the signs of the end times to create fear. He gave these warnings to produce faith, discernment, and readiness. When these things begin to happen, believers are told to look up because our redemption is drawing near.
Our hope is not found in governments, economies, military power, or human promises. Our hope is firmly anchored in Jesus Christ. While the world may be shaken, God remains sovereign. His Word remains true, His promises are certain, and His plan continues to unfold.
This is not the time for spiritual complacency. It is not the time to drift from prayer, neglect Scripture, or compromise biblical truth. Believers must remain watchful, prayerful, faithful, and confident in the Lord.
For those who do not know Christ, these events are also a call to seek Him while there is still time. Salvation is available through Jesus Christ, but every person must decide whom they will serve.
Joshua declared:
“Choose you this day whom ye will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Joshua 24:15
When change is in the air, do not surrender to fear. Stand firm in faith, keep your eyes fixed on Christ, and remember that God is still in control.
Lift up your head. Remain faithful. Share the Gospel. Encourage others. Live every day with the expectation that Christ will fulfill every promise He has made.
This is not the time to be getting ready. It is the time to be ready.
